Starfleet Academy in North Carolina

The N.C. legislature is requesting funds for a Star Fleet Academy to be built at N.C. A&T University. Yes, the very same Star Fleet related to the Star Trek series. Want to see something funny? Then watch this parody. Trekkies, be forewarned.

Congratulations, Reps. Jones and Hughes for bringing to our state the Star Fleet Academy at NC A&T. A noble and worthwhile use of our meager tax dollars. Never mind we have roads in need of repair and bridges long overdue for replacement. Unfortunately, many high school students will not be able to take history and English classes at community colleges because of budget cuts. Who the heck needs to know what came before. We need to be concerned with those who will boldly go forward tomorrow.

While driving the roads of NC, pothole by pothole, I shall take great pleasure knowing I will not have to travel far for my lessons in Klingon language and customs.

Take heart, North Carolina. Any loses in the economy of our great state because of tax hikes will be more than offset by the pride of knowing WE have the Star Fleet Academy.
