The reason why &quot;documented&quot; cases of voter fraud are so low are because there are currently no laws to effectively catch and punish offenders. If there are no speed limits, you can&#039;t really catch anyone speeding. Also, look at the link in the last paragraph under Myth #1, it will help to quell the idea that supporters of voter ID, which are both Republicans and Democrats, do not seek to bar anyone from voting.]]></description>

With a shrinking demographic and base, the right seeks to counteract this by restricting the voting rights of people who normally don&#039;t vote republican. It hasn&#039;t been an issue in the past, but as people see the results of the GOP&#039;s regressive policies that benefit a small portion of the population, just selling fear of minorities and resentment of the poor no longer garners enough votes.]]></description>
