State and Local Immigration Laws Throughout the United States

Frustrated with federal inaction, a growing number of states and localities are discovering that, as sovereign entities, they already possess the authority to enforce U.S. immigration law. Arizona, Oklahoma and Colorado have been leaders at the state level. At the local level, Prince William County, Va., and Beaufort County, S.C., stand out. Here in the Southeast, Georgia and South Carolina have also passed comprehensive immigration reform measures. Check below to see what your state or locality is doing to enforce immigration law … or what they could be doing.
