The proposed Wake County sales tax will raise will take tens of millions of dollars out of residents’ pockets every year — for a bus and rail plan many won’t use.
The sales tax increase is earmarked for mass transit, but at a recent event sponsored by Civitas and the Wake County Taxpayers Association, Julie Tisdale of the John Locke Foundation said the proposed transit system will be underutilized, inconvenient and expensive.
