In this time of budgeting, we should look to the past to see what has worked and what has not. The 30th President of the United States felt that heavy taxation of the American people was wrong. During his administration, President Coolidge decreased taxes and most notably decreased spending and paid down the national debt. Take note that we are still here. Taxes were cut, the economy climbed. Our children didn't grow up to be ignorant and they were able to continue to grow the economy. So in this time of "crisis," why is it impossible to make cuts to our budget instead of raising taxes?
"Collecting more taxes than is absolutely necessary is legalized robbery." -Coolidge
