Do you ever wonder how North Carolina manages to lag behind all of her neighbors on conservative issues? So do I. The political leadership here often dismisses conservative issues as either pointless or lacking effectiveness. But the truth is that they really fear North Carolina’s conservatism. This was very evident during the last legislative session on the issue of protecting marriage.
If you think your state needs to address the issue and vote on a change to the state constitution then take heart, your neighbors in all of the surrounding states do too!

North Carolina is the only state in the South that has neither voted or scheduled a vote on the marriage amendment. The bills for the referendum where filed in both the House and the Senate but the leadership made sure not to allow any votes on these. They know that the voters of North Carolina overwhelmingly support traditional marriage but refuse to give those voters a say.
