It is becoming increasingly clear that there are very few elected officials willing to stand up to Obamamania's free money fantasy of the economic so-called stimulus package. But don't look too far to find a leader that carries the clear message of free markets and isn't so ready to convert to the Washing ton based religion of Governtology, he lives just down the road in the Governor's mansion in Columbia South Carolina.
Mark Sanford has struck again, this time on on CNN. Here are my favorite parts from South Carolina's Conservative Governor:
- “A problem that was created by building up of too much debt will not be solved with yet more debt.”
“We’re moving precipitously close to what I would call a
savior-based economy.” like “what you see
in Russia or Venezuela or Zimbabwe or places like that where it matters
not how good your product is to the consumer but what your political
connection is to those in power.”
- “A lot of people who’ve made some very stupid decisions are being bailed out by the population at large."
This guy is golden. When his 2nd term expires in 2010 I wonder what the next stage of his career will be? We could always send him a uhaul bound for North Carolina and see if he can straighten this state out.
