The NC Community College System has published Performance Measures for Student Success. The document contains just the kind of information (e.g., GED passage rates, graduation rates, transfer success etc.) policymakers, educators and the general public need to assess how a local community college is performing.
Yes, results show there is work to be done. Still it’s a good first step toward not only greater transparency, better assessment and accountability but also institutional improvement. Kudos to Scott Ralls and North Carolina’s 58 Community Colleges for their efforts.
