U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole’s lead has been cut to 3 points in the latest Civitas poll released today. This is down 6 points from out poll in July. Click here for full release.
Obviously, the ads the DSCC have been running critical of Senator Dole are working. The lead that Dole built after the primary by going on TV has been completely erased.
When Dole was on TV, she built her lead up to 10 points and looked
comfortable. Then the DSCC started their ads unopposed and Dole’s lead
was gone.
It’s a whole new ballgame, except this time Dole’s negatives are probably higher.
If Hagan wins, we will look back on the past month, when the DSCC has been able to run ads hammering Dole without Dole answering (she went back up on TV yesterday), as the turning point of this election.
