Pat McCrory hasn’t said he is a Republican candidate for Governor but his Mid Year Campaign Report filed in July shows he received over $1 million in small individual donations. That’s since late February. He received $1,000 from the party committee and nearly $22,000 from other political committees. The report indicates his committee has just over $940,000 cash on hand.
Meanwhile, his likely opponent should he run, Governor Bev Perdue received over $1,300,000 from individuals since February. She was given $4,775 by the Democratic Party and over $14,000 from other committees. Her Mid Year report also shows her campaign committee owes her and her husband a lot of money. Perdue loaned her campaign a total of $630,000. Her husband Bob Eaves loaned the campaign a total of $296,500. On the report, by the way, his employment is listed as “First Gentleman.” Eaves was paid $150,000 toward repayment of the loans.
They are both still owed $776,500 by Bev Perdue’s campaign committee.
The report shows Governor Perdue’s committee has nearly $1,341,000 on hand.
