NC Watchdog Training

Interested in keeping tabs on what your government and public officials are doing? Want to learn how to effectively request information and share it with other citizens? If so, then join the Civitas Institute and the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity for the NC Watchdog Training conference on July 27th and 28th to hear tips and tricks from some of the best investigative journalists in the Conservative movement!

The event kicks off Friday night with a networking reception and dinner with renowned journalist and advocate James O’Keefe, President of Project Veritas. O’Keefe is responsible for exposing corrupt organizations such as ACORN, Planned Parenthood, NPR, and Medicaid.  Saturday will include training sessions aimed at investigating and exposing the government, along with educating fellow citizens.

Saturday training will have two tracks: Citizen Watchdog will discuss how to make public records requests, accessing  hard to reach information and along with advice from some of the leading investigative journalists in the country. The Blogging track will entail basics for how to create an effective blog. It will also focus on advanced blogging topics such as messaging, networking, and outreach tactics. Each track will be led by skilled speakers who have extensive experience in their fields, and who are eager to share their knowledge. Please bring a laptop!
