April 12, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Union dues

In North Carolina, state government deducts membership dues and contributions from the paychecks of members of labor unions and employee associations. This practice saves the unions the work and expense of getting the dues from their members. In light of that, our March 2017 poll includes the following question and answer.

In your opinion, should North Carolina government help labor unions by withholding union dues from state worker paychecks so the unions do not have to collect the money manually?

20%     Yes

61%     No

18%     Don’t Know/ Need More Information
