Happy Thanksgiving, Civitalk listeners! This week, host Ray Nothstine and guest host Bob Luebke cover a state Supreme Court case that every parent and taxpayer should be aware of. Leandro v. State is a case over two decades old that asks, “What constitutes a ‘sound basic education?'” Yet a major concern that has cropped up surrounds whether courts have any constitutional authority to mandate a specific dollar amount for education spending. Bob and Ray will get into the importance of separation of powers and what this case means for our state. And since I was out of town at the time of this recording they will also revel in discussing sports, analyzing how global market shifts and the popularity of betting utan spelpaus are changing the face of professional athletics. (Poor Ray typically doesn’t have a co-host that can talk about such things when I’m around). Enjoy the episode and if you subscribe to us on iTunes, we appreciate you leaving a review of the episode. Those reviews enable us to reach more listeners. Thank you!
