Our March 2017 poll asked two related questions about which public bodies really control education in the state.

The questions and responses were:

For a long time, there has been confusion over who controls K-12  public education in North Carolina. To your knowledge, which of the following entities controls education in North Carolina?

12%     The Legislature

6%       The Governor

33%     State Board of Education

7%       State Superintendent of Public Instruction

7%       North Carolina Department of Public Instruction

19%     Unsure/ Don’t Know

 

In your opinion, which of the following SHOULD control K-12  education in North Carolina?
