Jan. 2016 Poll: Trump Fans Would Back 3rd Party Run

February 11, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Here’s an interesting bit from our most recent poll, taken of likely Republican primary voters. It shows  Trump supporters would back a third-party run by the billionaire businessman, with 56 percent backing him, their “preferred candidate,” and 30 percent preferring the generic Republican candidate.

When our poll was taken, it showed Trump with the slightest of edges over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. We’ll have an update on NC opinion with the results of our next live-caller poll March 10.
