Yesterday legislation (HB 1061) was introduced to replace Common Core Standards in North Carolina public schools. Representatives Bryan Holloway, Larry Pittman and Michael Special are primary sponsors of the legislation, which was largely a product of the legislative common core study committee that just completed its work last month. The bill now gets a hearing in the Education Committee. As of yet, no date has been set. All North Carolinians who feel strongly about Common Core are urged to share your concerns with your elected representatives.
