Though it may seem okay for the FDA to regulate the tobacco industry, where do we draw the line? I urge everyone to look at this regulation through a different lens.
Is it possible that the U.S. Government does not feel you have the intelligence to make your own decisions regarding your health? Yes, that is what is happening.
Are we all dumb enough that pretty pictures, colors, and the word "light" will deceive us into unknowingly destroying our own bodies? No, we are not. We need not a government to make these decisions for us.
As Americans, we need to wake up and realize that as we give up these liberties slowly, we are truly giving up our liberties in full stride. Now the FDA regulates how the tobacco industry can market their products, because Americans are too easily taken advantage of. Next, the FDA will regulate the toothpaste industry, because we cannot properly pick a product to suit our needs.
