The NCAA has announced that the men’s basketball tournament games in 2020 and 2021 along with several other championship events will return to North Carolina.
Of course they did. Their purely political “objections” were disingenuous at best. It was always very odd that the NCAA would object to constitutional legislation protecting businesses’ rights to have gender-specific restrooms while their teams remain gender-specific.
The feigned outrage was worth the headlines when the Human Rights Campaign and other social justice warriors had their back. But money talks and it’s apparently worth their while to halt the “boycott” for good and return tournament games to North Carolina, where the infrastructure and number of college sports fans provide an ideal location for such tournaments. Of course we’re glad to see the NCAA return tournament games to North Carolina, but make no mistake- the feeling is mutual.
