It seems like the General Assembly leadership has learned absolutely nothing in the months it has been out.
Four bills today on the House’s calendar:
1. Mandate two new coverages to health insurance, driving up premium costs (HB 589)
2. Increase fees for the residents of Union County (HB 565)
3. Create a dangerous FannieMae/FreddieMac type investment vehicle for life sciences start up corporations where taxpayers could potentially be on the hook for a $100 million bailout to the likes of Goldman Sachs and Citibank (HB 530)
4. Increase tax credits for Hollywood billionaires (HB 713). Which studies have shown do no work.

Joe Sam Queen is already on the campaign trail with the the NC Czar of Small Business in tow. He is out to tell us he is in favor of small business and taking credit for creating jobs in our jobless county he calls his home county. Wonder what this costs the taxpayers for him to roam around his district with a government employee to “prove to the people” that he is pro small government while he votes to over burden small businesses with taxes and regulations that will shut them down? Go figure!
